**A term based on the biology term "imaginal disk", that refers to the cell groups within a caterpiller that transform it into a
butterfly. How this can relate to you & I is well expressed in Growing Wings, Imaginal Cells, and The Gateway Butterfly.

These meetings are people getting together to explore spirituality & solutions for a viable future...
and to celebrate our "here & now". These meetings have the goal of achieving a new way of looking
at things [particularly challenges we face as individuals, community, culture, and species]. This
"new way of looking at things" is often simply adopting some new beliefs or information which have
been shown to be most effective in becoming happy!

Right now most of what we believe about ourselves & the world around us is being greatly
influenced by commercial corporate interests through media & advertising.

Before we can create changes that we want, we need to understand what it is that we truly want.
This is NOT more "things" but rather, research has shown that what most people want is:

**love & romance,
**to feel good about ourselves,
**warm and intimate relationships with family & friends [fulfilling social connections],
**meaningful work,
**comfort & security,
**autonomy,
**tension-free leisure time,
**and viable solutions for satisfying these wants!!!

When we become aware of and understand these wants we are better able to see how to achieve
them.

This can be done by helping to generate a shift in consciousness that will motivate us to find & use
the information needed to create the rewarding and sustainable future we desire.
